Hazardous Haze

Assalamualaikum and have a good haze (read: day) everyone! How are you coping with the hazardous haze so far? Schools in most states are being closed due to this terrible haze and many of us are suffering from this annual catastrophe. I am starting to feel sick these few days too so I would like to share some of the useful tips that can be practiced now that the situation is getting even more serious.

Before that, let us do a background research about this problem. Haze is very dangerous to children and asthmatic patients because the high concentration of particulate matters in the smoke may irritate sensitive airways and it would also bring on mild symptoms like eye irritation or skin rashes. The particulate matters found in the hazy air may also affect the elderly with lung and heart diseases and it is better for everyone of us to stay indoors. Here are few tips that I managed to google on the internet:

1) Drink lots of water to flush away any irritants that get into the airways. Cover the doors and windows to prevent the haze from getting into your house.

2) One should rest and sleep well and wear protective face mask to filter the air. Reduce or avoid excessive outdoor activities.

3) Eat and drink more green vegetables and fruits, oily fish like sardines and nuts to boost up our immune system.

4) Wash the skins exposed to hazy air with clean water and try to shower as frequent as possible to wash down irritants that could affect our skin. Make sure to rinse your eyes and wash your hands as well.

5) Take extra precaution when you start to produce wheezing sounds when breathing, cough particularly at night, having difficulty in breathing and chest tightness because that could be a symptom of asthma.

Take a very good care of yourself everyone! Our health is super precious so let us pray that a very heavy downpour will wash away our miseries. Insyaallah, we are praying for Your "hujan rahmat" Ya Allah :)

Okey, akan cuba mengadaptasinya dlm kehidupan skg ni, Myself pun now suffer dgn jerebu. Kulit sentiasa on-0ff terdedah dgn cuaca yg tak menentu. Mengharapkan yg semuanya akan berlalu dgn segera, dan kembali pulih seperti biasa.
