Wondermama @ Bangsar Village

Photo: Menternak lemak @ Wondermama Bangsar Village :)
Last Wednesday my friends and I tried the menu at Wondermama, located at Bangsar Village. This restaurant is super cool and it is a perfect place for you and your friends to sit for hours while enjoying sumptuous delicacies! The price range is not so expensive, very affordable for students like us but the taste of the food is never compromised.
I ordered "Nyonya Laksa" as my lunch and it was delicious!!! It is served in a really big bowl and I asked for a mixture of "laksa" and "bihun" in a bowl and you can ask for more "sambal" if you like it spicy. "Nyonya laksa" is cooked with santan and it is one of the many laksa variants in Malaysia.
RM 13.90 if I am not mistaken
It comes with a garnishing of daun kesum to enhance its fragrance, total yumness! I had to ask my friends to finish this up for me because it was a lot and we shared the tasteful laksa to all four of us hehe :)
My friends ordered "Chicken Katsu" and it is served in a really unique tray. You must try Chicken Katsu once you are here because this is no ordinary burger.
I do not remember the price of Chicken Katsu but it is not really expensive. This is the perfect meal for a busy person out there who would want to grab a quick lunch before heading out for a meeting and stuff.
For drinks, I had Mango Juice for RM 5 (if I am not mistaken). Look at the cool set up of the place; I love the arrangement of the counter, the table, the furniture and all. This restaurant is a mixture of East and West cuisine because even their spaghetti has otak-otak in it; a bit spicy and suitable for our Malaysian taste buds !
My friends love the food; we ordered the famous "Durian Crepe with ice-cream" too but it was finished before I managed to take a photo of it. Really really delicious! In fact, we can also find "ais krim potong", "cendol", cakes and many more cuisines here. All in all, I can say that all the food in Wondermama is truly Malaysian and simply affordable!
Wondermama is a perfect restaurant for parties and occasions as they dedicate the second level of the restaurant for such purpose. You have to call for reservation because the spot is always occupied, so be quick!
Do not forget to try the food at Wondermama; just go there, order various choice of meals, relax and chill with your friends right in the middle of Bangsar. For more information about Wondermama, please visit their Facebook page:

Long Live

:Background Music:
Long Live by Taylor Swift

Alhamdulillah; just checked my Semester 4 result in UPM! Long live the semesters I crashed through; for a moment a boy with a ripped up jeans got to rule the world. Four more semesters to moving mountains and fighting dragons; insyaallah one day we will be remembered :)

Happy V-Day to those celebrating and best of luck in losing whatever you plan on losing. I will sit here patiently on this lonely bench of loneliness cheering merrily for your mistakes but no worries; I am just excited to seeing the bump on your belly in the next 9 months so please make cute babies yeah. Today is the best day to test your sexual prowess so please, play safe :)

P/S: Your virginity is like a flower; it grows with desire until someone snaps the beauty and you lost it forever. Trust me, don't do things that you will regret later :)

I just want to go back to sleep

:Background Music:
Gravity Rides Everything by Lenka

I just want to go back to sleep;
a state of mine and mind in which
I am dreaming my own dream.

I cared too much
I forgot to be me;
I promise that when I wake up
I will do more of what makes me happy.
This is not exactly the kind of poem
I would want to compose but,
I just want go back to sleep
because this life I am living and leaving
is not pretty.

Photo-story at MRSM Kuala Krai

Click these links for more related blog posts of my first teaching experience at MRSM Kuala Krai Kelantan.

"Photo-story" is a creative way for students of an English language classroom to convey messages through meaningful humor with the correct use of the language in a comic strip. Photo-story is invented by Professor Dr. Jayakaran a/l Mukundan, my lecturer in Universiti Putra Malaysia as another way to attract students' interest in using English language in various situations.
Prof. Dr. Jayakaran Mukundan
In MRSM Kuala Krai, B. Ed TESL students of Universiti Putra Malaysia were asked to conduct a photo-story project with the Form 5 students. Each class was instructed to produce a comic strip with the theme "humor" and each photo-story will be evaluated by Prof. Dr. Jayakaran himself for research and leisure purpose. Let us view the products of Form 5 students of MRSM Kuala Krai Kelantan.

5 Alpha

5 Beta

5 Cigma

5 Gamma

5 Lambda

As for my opinion, all five classes did well for this project as we can see how they produced a correct and concise language in the comic strip, of course with the help of UPM facilitators. What I would like to highlight here is their willingness to try and use English language in the classroom while the project is being carried out. These students can speak, write, listen and read in English but most of the time they are just afraid of being mocked by friends and feel shy to practice the language even with the teachers.
Form 4 Gamma
For your information, these Form 5 students were asked to converse and discuss in English only as the facilitators helped in various ways to improve. The students produced the idea, they recorded and edited the comic strip while facilitators observe the progress of the project. In only two days the students managed to come out with such humorous comic strip and most importantly, we could see that they are no longer afraid of English language. The moments these students tried to converse with the facilitators in English were the most heartfelt ones, as we are all proud with their willingness to communicate. Hopefully with us coming to UPM last week will open up a wide space in their hearts and minds that English is easy and please do not feel afraid to use English at all; that is how you can practice the most.

P/S: I miss my kids at MRSM Kuala Krai, they are super intelligent!

Give and Take

"What I learn about giving is giving; and definitely not taking".

That is the phrase that I will always think about whenever I feel like giving; just a gentle reminder for myself and everyone around me to not expect anything in return when you give something to someone. I do believe in give and take but I feel that it will be more appropriate if we do not expect anything when we are at the giving end. And as for those who are at the receiving end, please try to make an effort in order to give back something to somebody else. Life is a natural cycle of give and take and Allah will reward us with something great if we totally deserve it.

P/S: Would anybody like to join me volunteering for Pertiwi Soup Kitchen in Kuala Lumpur at the end of February? I am looking for bloggers who are interested in giving back to the homeless and if you do, please contact me on blog, Facebook or Twitter ASAP :)
